Welcome Home

This is the main barn.  Jordan is the dog in the foreground.  He alerts us when coyotes are in the area which unfortunately is often.

These are pullets (not producing any eggs yet).  When eggs start coming we have nest boxes lining the walls.  This is the time when the Grade PeeWee are available for only a few weeks a year.

This is one of the pastures our birds are allowed to wander.  The barn wall in the background is from the 1890s.  You'll notice that this is rather weedy but our main fields are tended to and knocked down.  We keep some long grass/weeds for them to take shelter in the shade during warmer days.

When you ask, "So, how much space do your birds get?"  This picture says it all.  The pasture is open - all the way to the powerlines in the distance to the tree line on the horizon.  Our birds are afforded a wide berth.
